4D Ultrasound at 32-33 Weeks

The past few weeks have been flying by. This weekend we went to Prenatal Peek in Diamond Bar to get a 4D Ultrasound. We went on a Saturday, but since Christian was covering his face with his arm, we had to reschedule for Monday which happened to also be a regular prenatal appointment.

I also finally had a chance to get started on painting the nursery in addition to going on a baby supply shopping spree. Since we aren’t planning on having a traditional baby shower and instead having a baby welcoming, we’ve been buying all kinds of essentials like blankets, onesies, bath supplies, a bassinet, etc. We also scored another stroller, the Chicco Cortina Travel System – Synergy.

We’ve also had two other prenatal appointments since the last post. This is from Cinco de Mayo:

From the feedback that we’ve gotten from the doctors and 4D tech, Christian is healthy and chubby with lots of hair.

Profile Shots and a Bumbleride

We had another chance to see Christian in the womb. The OB-GYN doctor did a few routine examinations and told us that everything looks good.

26 Weeks and 3 Days

The day after the appointment, the stroller we’ve been searching for, after missing out on a good online-only deal from Babies R Us, arrived a week late from an Amazon seller (avoid 16th Avenue Pharmacy, Inc. aka 911drugstore.com). The deal wasn’t as good as Babies R Us, but it was the best around. We’re also waiting on a matching diaper bag, the Bumbleride Jam Pack in Lava, that ships on May 5 from Fawn and Forest. Here are some pics of the Bumbleride Queen B in Ruby:

I’m Christian, and I’m a Mac

Little Christian has been kicking a lot lately. One night, I was talking to him in the womb and said, “I’m Christian, and I’m a Mac.” Then he kicked right after I said it. I said it again, and he kicked again.

A day after Momma’s birthday, we had a chance to see him. In the top pic, you can see his profile and in the bottom one, you can see an eye, his nose and his mouth.

Just the other day, his car seat arrived. We found a good deal on a Recaro Como in Midnight Desert from Albee Baby.

A few hours ago, we were discharged from Labor and Delivery after an episode of spotting. The doctor on duty did a few tests, and everything checked out. I had a chance to sneak a recording of his heartbeat.

Little PacMan

We had three appointments in the past few weeks (March 9, March 18, March 26) and had ultrasound number 8 done. Our OB-GYN had to zoom out to get our growing baby fully into the frame. As soon as we were able to get a clear picture, she pointed out a hand waving. With a slight adjustment, we saw our little boy “chomping” his mouth. The doctor said that was her first time seeing that.

The first time we saw our little angel Bella, she was waving at about 4 weeks.
Hello

The baby is kicking and swimming a lot; I’ve felt him a few times. Momma is getting tired easily and has pains in her legs every once in a while. The doc checked the crevix, and its still looking good. We have reached another milestone by passing the 23 week mark and pray everyday for a healthy, full-term pregnanacy.

10 Years with a DA

I’ve been trying to sell my car for a while now, and someone finally bought it. I know the buyer, so she will be in good hands. Only after looking at the old paper work, did I realize that I’ve had the car for just over 10 years. I picked up the car on 2/23/1999 and sold it on 2/28/2009. It’s been a ten-year roller coaster of learning and meeting some great friends along the way.

After numerous wheels, colors, bumpers, lips, etc. Here’s a picture timeline of my DA.

After a few months, I threw on my Kuya’s 15×6 Work Emotions lowered on Suspension Techniques SpeedTech springs, clear corners and a K&N filter and elbow adapter.

One night after going to Miyagi’s with some Bosco buddies, I got bumped by a wandering guy from Branson, Missouri.

My Kuya and I decided that we can take the insurance money and fix it ourselves, so we bought all the parts and materials to get it done.

Later that same year, Reyna got me an early Birthday/Christmas gift, a Wings West Mugen style spoiler. After painting and installing it, I took the Adler Racing AR-08 wheels (17×7) off her car, replaced them with 18×7.5 Tenzo Shu-4’s and threw the Adler’s on my car.

Around 2003, I was leaving a friend’s birthday party and rear-ended a Lexus RX300. Once again, I took it upon my self to fix the car on my own. In the process, I started a group buy on some VIS carbon fiber hoods, tracked down some Mugen style side skirts, used my Overboost discount and upgraded to a Kaminari front bumper cover, replaced one JDM fender, sourced a passenger side JDM one-piece headlights and added sidemarkers. All the used parts came from YLM from the Alpha street junkyards in Irwindale. I also changed the wheels again. Reyna’s uncle came to visit from the Philippines, and as a graduation gift, he brought over some Rota Circuit 8’s (16×7).

I was wandering around the old Alta tire shop on Temple City Blvd. and came across a pretty clean and complete set of 16×7 Kakimoto Racing N-GT’s and traded in a set of 16×7 Work Emotions that I found on eBay. In addition to the wheels, I came up on a good deal for a damaged JDP carbon fiber lip for my old 92 bumper and held for ransom, a rare optional equipment rear visor.

Even though I was content with how that car looked and even showed at the 2005 Nisei car show, browsing around the Generation 2 Integra Club, I found a replica of the OE front lip for my 90 bumper. With less time on my hands and strict deadlines to meet working for Honda Tuning and Car Audio magazines, I had the lip and JDM flat mouldings color-matched, bumpers and skirts resprayed. Around that time and a few days away from Import Showoff, I sourced 2 sets of SSR Super Mesh 15×6.5 to make one clean set, JDM amber bumper signals and a cleaner pair of headlights.

A few months pass by and I get laid off from what I thought was my dream job, just 5 days after my wedding. As a little pick me up, a “Danny” good friend of mine had the idea to do a tribute photo shoot. Here are a couple of shots. You can see more on his site.

These are some final shots of the car heading off to new horizons.

It’s Definitely a Boy!

And we have a picture to prove it. We saw our perinatologist for a routine check up, and she did another ultrasound. We also got all negative results for the AFP test which is a good thing. Our baby boy is looking good. We can’t pray and thank God enough for this blessing.

Heard the Heartbeat Yesterday

On Sunday, February 15, we reached 17 weeks. We had a routine check up with the Nurse Practitioner yesterday and heard the heartbeat. Everything seemed to check out, and we can’t thank God enough for blessing us with this baby! We went to the lab to have blood drawn for an AFP test and  have another ultra sound to check the anatomy scheduled on March 2. Reyna says that the baby kicks like crazy lately, especially when he hears my voice or when reading to him.

On a side note, it sucks when people look at us and assume that we are some young irresponsible kids having a baby. Maybe in a few years, I can read back at this and say, “Damn, I wish we still looked young.”

Another aside. Reggie now has a fiancé:

We had a follow up appointment for the cerclage on Monday, Feb. 2. Everything is looking good, and after passing 15 weeks, we found out that we’re having a mini me!

Hello world!

I finally gave in and decided to start a blog. The main reason for this is to document the changes occurring around me. The main one being a new baby coming into our lives. I’ve been married for two and a half years, and in that time, we lost one at 5 months and another at about 6 weeks. My wife just reached a milestone that we are truly excited about: the first trimester is over and she is just passed 14 weeks. Our expected due date is 7.26.2009.

12.3.2008 – 6 weeks and 4 days
12/3/2008 Ultrasound

12.8.2008 – 7 weeks and 4 days
12/8/2008 Ultrasound

12.15.2008 – 9 weeks! Happy Birthday to me!

12.30.2008 – 12 weeks and 2 days
12/30/2008 Ultrasound

1.9.2009 – 12 weeks and 2 days
1/9/2009 Ultrasound

1.21.2009 – 13 weeks and 3 days

Reyna just went through a procedure in which a cerclage was inserted to prevent her cervix from dilating prematurely and will be taken out around 36 weeks. From there nature will take its course.
